CLGR® trawl pulleys & blocks series are dedicated to serving fishery application scenarios. The product offers two material options: steel and wood, which can be used in conjunction with steel wire ropes and various types of rigging ropes and can be opened on one side to quickly and easily insert a wire rope without having to remove the load or change the direction of the cable, by looping the rope through the pulley (around the sheave) several times before hooking to the object.
1. Least Effort & Operational Efficiency Enhancement
Harnessing the principle of leverage, these pulley blocks cut the tension required for trawling by 30% to 60%. For instance, a trawl net weighing 10 tons can be retrieved with just 3 to 5 tons of traction when paired with a 2- or 3-sheave pulley system. This not only eases the strain on the vessel's propulsion system but also slashes net retrieval time on average—critical for capturing on fleeting fish shoal opportunities.
2. Load Protection & Rope Longevity Extension
The smooth rotation of sheaves minimizes friction between ropes and fixed components, preventing fraying and strand breakage of steel or synthetic hawsers, so extending rope service life compared to rope-direct systems. Additionally, the pulley's load-dispersing design absorbs sudden impact forces from net snags or rough seas, reducing trawl net tearing risks.
