CLGR® NS2589 Bulwark Mounted Mooring Chock is manufactured to Norwegian standards and commonly known as a bulwark mooring chock or Panama chock.
It is a closed-type fitting installed at the ship's bow, usually cast in a circular or elliptical shape, used to guide and limit the position of mooring lines. Both bulwark-mounted and deck-mounted versions are available.
Made from cast steel, the chock is surface-cleaned to SA2.5 according to SIS 05 59 00 and coated with a rust-proof primer. The smooth finish, free of burrs and sharp edges, helps reduce rope friction and wear during mooring operations.
Mooring chocks are critical for safe berthing. They secure mooring ropes, distribute line forces across the hull, and help prevent excessive ship movement. The NS2589 bulwark chock comes in two sizes: 300×250mm (single chock, withstands 445kN line strain) and 400×250mm (double chock, withstands 625kN line strain), suitable for PCC and similar vessels.
Simple to install, rugged, and durable, this chock is designed for long-term service in demanding port environments. Custom sizes available upon request. Contact us for more details.
