The CLGR® Marlin Spikes Splicing Fid for Fiber Rope Stainless Steel with Wood Handle, also called Splicing Fid or Marlin Spike Rope Splicing Fid/Tool, Splicing Spike FID Stainless Steel (Wooden Handle Rope Tool), and Swedish Fid Stainless Steel, Fids for Synthetic Rope.
This CLGR® stainless steel Marlin Spike for fibre rope is used for easily and neatly splicing various types of rope, mainly soft rope of synthetic or natural construction. When splicing a rope, the marlin spike is inserted into the rope to form a hole allowing easy access into the lay.
The marlin spike helps undo very tight knots that have been underload and is often used with a marlin-spike hitch knot to tension a rope.
Made out of marine grade stainless steel and wood, the marlin spike is available in two different sizes.
