Trawl riggings come with both fiber and steel cores, as well as round wire and dense wire types, with dense wire ones being more suitable for high-abrasion environments, all equipped with lubricants specially designed for fishing nets.

A turnbuckle, stretching screw or bottlescrew is a device for adjusting the tension or length of ropes, cables, tie rods, and other tensioning systems. How to Choose Rigging Products with Strong Corrosion Resistance in Fishing Applications?

Preferred Material: Stainless Steel

Especially 316 or 316L grade stainless steel. This type of stainless steel contains molybdenum element and has super strong resistance to chloride corrosion compared to 304 stainless steel. It can effectively resist the erosion of sea salt and humid marine air, and is the gold standard for fishing and marine environments.

Surface Treatment: Hot Dipped Galvanized (HDG)

For high-strength alloy steel (such as high carbon steel) products, hot-dip galvanizing is a necessary process. It provides excellent sacrificial anode protection by covering the steel surface with a thick layer of zinc. Ensuring a uniform and firm zinc layer can greatly extend its service life in seawater environments.

Risk Avoidance: Eliminate Common Carbon Steel

Never choose common carbon steel or black steel products without any surface protection treatment. They will quickly rust in the marine environment, and their strength and safety will sharply decrease, making them very dangerous.

Check the Process

Check whether the surface of the product is smooth, uniform, and free of defects such as missed plating and cracks.
